Oh I bet you think you're John Wayne Showing up and shooting down everybody You're classic in the wrong way And we all know that you know the story Cause everyone knows someone who kills the buzz Everytime they open up their mouth Yeah everyone knows someone who knows someone Who thinks they're cooler than everybody else And I think we've seen enough, seen enough To know that you ain't ever gonna come down So why don't you giddy up, giddy up And ride straight out of this town You and your high horse You and your high horse I bet you think you're first place Yeah, someone should give you a ribbon And put you in the hall of fame For all the games that you think that you're winning Cause everyone knows someone who kills the buzz Everytime they open up their mouth Yeah everyone knows someone who knows someone Who thinks they're cooler than everybody else And I think we've seen enough, seen enough To know that you ain't ever gonna come down So why don't you giddy up, giddy up And ride straight out of this town You and your high horse You and your high horse Darling you take the high horse, and I'll take the highway If you're too good for us, you'll be here riding solo Yeah, I think we've seen enough, seen enough To know that you ain't ever gonna come down So why don't you giddy up, giddy up And ride straight out of this town You and your high horse You and your high horse High horse You ain't ever gonna come down You ain't ever gonna come down

I never ask you where your goin', I never ask you where you've been I've never called and checked your story, When you stayed out with all your friends I've never tried to catch you lyin', I didn't want to know the truth I'd rather go on lovin' blind girl, Than go on lovin' without you I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then I wish I could start this whole thing over again I'm not sayin' it's you, You could never be true I just don't want to know how it ends You'd still have my heart in the palm of your hands I'd still look like a fool in front of your freinds Yeah, I wish somehow I didn't know now what I didn't know then I've always said what I don't know Couldn't hurt as bad as leavin' you Turns out I knew what I was thinkin', It ain't an easy thing to do, Well I guess I should be goin' I sure found out too much to stay, Please don't say your sorry I might wait another day I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then I wish I could start this whole thing over again I'm not sayin' it's you, You could never be true I just don't want to know how it ends You'd still have my heart in the palm of your hands I'd still look like a fool in front of your friends Yeah, I wish somehow I didn't know now what I didn't know then You'd still have my heart in the palm of your hand I'd still look like a fool in front of your friends Yeah, I wish somehow I didn't know now what I didn't know then Yeah, I wish somehow I didn't know now what I didn't know then

If you really want to know She comes here a lot She just loves to hear the music and dance K13 is her favorite song If you play it, you might have a chance Tonight she's only sippin' white wine She's friendly and fun lovin' most of the time But don't ask her on a straight tequila night She'll start thinkin' about him, and she's ready to fight Blames her broken heart on every man in sight On a straight tequila night Here's a glass of Chablis, and some quarters and change Maybe you can turn her love life around Then she won't need the salt or the lime anymore To shoot that old memory down Just remember her heart's on the mend If you ever come back to see her again Don't ask her on a straight tequila night She'll start thinkin' about him, then she's ready to fight Blames her broken heart on every man in sight On a straight tequila night Don't ask her on a straight tequila night She'll start thinkin' about him, then she's ready to fight Blames her broken heart on every man in sight On a straight tequila night Don't ask her on a straight tequila night She'll start thinkin' about him and she's ready to fight Blames her broken heart on every man in sight On a straight tequila night Don't ask her on a straight tequila night She'll start thinkin' about him and she's ready to fight Blames her broken heart on every man in sight On a straight tequila night

Me And You 05:36
Ordinary no, really don't think so Not a love this true Common destiny We were meant to be Me and you Like a perfect scene from a movie screen Where every dream comes true Suited perfectly for eternity Me and you Every day, I need you even more At the nighttime too There's no way I could ever let you go Even if I wanted to Every day I live I try my best to give All I have to you I thank the stars above That we share this love Me and you Every day, I need you even more At the nighttime too There's no way I could ever let you go Even if I wanted to Ordinary no, I really don't think so Just a precious few Ever make it last Get as lucky as Me and you Me and you

"OPEN YOUR EARS TO THE TAN SIDE OF LONESOME

The contemporary-country-meets-Italian-disco-meets-synth-pop pastiche—featuring re-tooled 4/4 hits by Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, John Anderson, Casey Musgraves, and George Strait—marks the dance club-ready follow-up to Snell’s previous works of pulsating escapism, Two By Tan and Musik City.

For his new release by the French label Stochastic, genre-shapeshifter Snell proves that a great song is a great song—no matter the number of beats per minute. Over the course of five propulsive, instantly catchy tracks, The Tan Side of Lonesome pays equal homage to country music’s earnest lyrics and rock-solid melodies, the exploratory, go-for-it nature of punk rock and the party-ready sounds made with the help of drum machines and synths.

While playing straight-ahead country music runs deep in Snell’s musical background, he attributed direct inspiration for The Tan Side of Lonesome to his partner, Dixie.

“She wanted me to do a Tan record of classic country cover songs and call it The Tan Side of Lonesome, in reference to the Jim Reeves album The Blue Side of Lonesome,” Snell says. “I liked the idea but thought that classic country would be a little too gimmicky. But one day I stumbled across a Nashville radio station that played all ’80s and ’90s country and I remember hearing (Kenny Chesney’s) Me and You and thinking it would be a good song to cover. That’s when I decided to do a cover album of that era of country music instead.

“I just took the basic chord structures of the original song and put them in a key that fit my vocal range, then kinda riffed on the melodies. I structured them like I would any other Tan song I was writing from scratch. They are all in 4/4 time which helps, but it's all really about the melodies.”

A country music fan from an early age, Snell grew up on the edge of the small Rust Belt town, Zanesville, Ohio, playing music with his grandfather. In his late teens, he was drawn to the synth-pop of Depeche Mode and bought his first synthesizers. After moving to Columbus, Snell split his time between the traditional country band he led and his melancholic pop project Anna Ranger.

“Me and my Grandpa played classic country in nursing homes before my punk days,” says Snell, who’s lived in Nashville since 2012. “Meanwhile, my cool aunt was turning me onto the modern country of the time that was on the radio: Tim McGraw, Joe Diffie, Neal McCoy, Blackhawk, Shania Twain, Garth Brooks. Punk led me to Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk, and then I just got deeper into it all from there. I still love both genres a lot.”

Nathan Snell, a.k.a., Tan: The Tan Side of Lonesome (Stochastic Releases):

In Anna Ranger's Swimming & Crawling, Nathan Snell highlighted his taste for country and British adult pop. In Tan's Musik City, Snell shared his passion for Italo disco and hi-NRG. Naturally, on his latest Stochastic release, The Tan Side of Lonesome, Snell covers mainstream country songs from the 1980s to 2010s, using drum machines and analog synths. Americans anywhere near a country FM radio station certainly will recognize the lyrics and choruses of the original songs, while European dance music enthusiasts will appreciate their captivating melodic power. Dance party people, country music traditionalists and fans of straight-up great songs, open your ears to The Tan Side of Lonesome."

"Nathan Snell's fourth release on Stochastic !
In Anna Ranger's Swimming&Crawling, Nathan exposed his taste for country and british adult pop, in Tan's Musik City, he showed his passion for italo disco and hi-nrg. What is more logical than this release, where Nathan covers 90's and (2010's) country songs using drum machines and analog synths ? American fellows will certainly recognize the original songs, while european fellows will appreciate their melodic power. Get this record while you can, play it at dance parties or to your friends or whatever. Thank you Nathan for this exceptional release."
